Patna: Bihar Foundation Mumbai Chapter is going to be inaugurated by Hon'ble Dy. CM Bihar Sri Sushil Kumar Modi on 7th Nov, 09 at Y. B. Chawan Auditorium, Nariman Point. The program will begin at 6 PM.A team of 22 artists from Bhartiya Nritya Kala Mandir, Patna will perform on the occasion.

Earlier the Cultural Committee of the proposed Mumbai Chapter enquired about the plans of the Govt. of Bihar for promoting the art and culture of Bihar. Bihar Foundation, Patna requested Dept of Art, Culture & Youth to send a team of artist to perform Bihari Lok Geet under ‘Sanskriti Bodh Srinkhla’. The Art, Culture and Youth department was satisfied by the idea for promoting art and culture of Bihar through the Chapters of Bihar Foundation.

Mumbai Chapter is formed by uniting many individual Bihari groups working in Maharashtra. An Executive Committee is formed for proper functioning of the chapter. Also three subcommittees namely HRD Committee, Trade, Commerce and Investment Committee and Cultural and Media Committee are formed to specify the work. The NRB in Mumbai gathered, decided and forwarded the names of the Committee members which will have tenure of one year. The Committee is headed by Mr. Ravi Shankar Srivastav, Addl Commissioner, Income Tax and a native of Patna. Anjuman-E-Bashindgan-e-Bihar is playing active role by lending office for the use of Bihar Foundation Mumbai Chapter.
